Popular Science

Communicating science is an important part of being a scientist. The general public needs to be informed about the latest developments in scientific research. Over the years, I have used several channels to spread the work of other scientists. Below you can find an overview of my efforts.

During my Masters in Antwerp, I worked for the student magazine dwars, first as a photographer and later as a writer.

I started working freelance for the Dutch popular science website Scientias during my PhD. Nowadays I regularly contribute with short pieces on evolution and biology.

After my PhD, I did an internship at the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant to develop my journalistic skills. This resulted in several articles on a wide array of topics.

Recently, I started working as Journal Support Publicity Officer for the British Ornithologists’ Union (BOU) where I will regularly write for the BOU blog.
